In response to the collapse of the affected companies Skagit River Bridge are encouraged to fill out a short worksheet to qualify the region for lending program for SBA economic injury disaster. Once a sufficient number of companies is identified, Governor Inslee will make a formal request to the SBA for assistance. This program offers loans at interest rates extremely low skilled affected businesses.
Companies can download the worksheet on http://tinyurl.com/EDASC-EIDL-Info or by contacting their local Chamber or the Economic Development Association of Skagit County. Completed forms should be faxed to 360-336-6116 or sent to EDASC at 204 W Montgomery, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. "It is essential that companies submit these spreadsheets," explained Don Wick, EDASC Executive Director, "in order to qualify for this assistance, we must document the impacts on our business community."
In addition to waiting for the SBA assistance, a number of other programs may be options for businesses.
