HealthQuest programs provided by Skagit Regional Health

Screening to Detect Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), Elevated Cholesterol

The Skagit Regional Heart & Vascular Institute provides this screening for all adults over age 18.The screening includes the following tests and results are immediate: Ankle brachial pressure index to help detect peripheral artery disease, blood pressure, full lipid profile plus glucose, body composition, and review results with a health care provider.

Call 360-814-2424 or 360-629-6481 (from Stanwood/Camano Island) to schedule an appointment for this screening program that takes just 40 minutes. The cost is $39 and it is held on Mondaymornings at Skagit Regional Clinics Cardiology. A physician referral is not necessary.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

This six-week course at Skagit Valley Hospital for expectant parents includes information about emotional changes during pregnancy, the labor process, breathing techniques, the role of the support person, breastfeeding, and a local pediatrician to discuss your baby’s first three months. Childbirth Express

Saturday/Sunday classes will cover all aspects of Labor, Medications, Cesareans, and after delivery care for you and your baby. The fee is $95, Breastfeeding\ Pediatrician class is not included. Medical coupons are accepted. Pre-registration required. Call 360-814-2424 or 360-629-6481 to register.

Arthritis Foundation hosts free class on Rheumatoid Arthritis

   Just Diagnosed is designed to provide participants who have been recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) within the last two years with the valuable tools they need to live a healthy life, as well as connect them with local resources to take control of their arthritis. Topics discussed include an overview of RA, treatment options, self-management strategies, and goal setting.
